It was very last minute- but guess who was asked to send gifts for the Kourtney Kardashian baby shower this month!?

YES.... ME!

So without spoiling too much for those involved... I will say that there is a magazine, TV, celebrities, and a soon-to-be Baby Boy involved!

I will also say that I was able to design something exclusive for her and no one else on Planet Earth will ever have the same thing!

Real Blood is for Suckers!

OMG I'm a serious Vampire addict!

Between Twilight, Vampire Diaries and True Blood..... If Vampires were real- I think i would totally wanna hook up with one! Why are all the guy Vampires so hot!? And its always that the guy is the hot sexy Vamp and the girl is a mortal..... Anyway i just cant get enough!

Of course Im dying for the next Twilight movie to hit the theaters..... but in the mean time I have found other ways to get my vampire fixes! Right now I am completely obsessed with True Blood. Since I dont subscribe to HBO, I am watching these episodes on DVD (which is way better anyway!). If it was not midnight right now I will be at Hollywood Video getting the rest of the season to watch over and over and over.....

We Survived the "Swine 09"!!

As many of my regular customers are aware and ALL of my facebook friends know... My daughter and I both have had the flu.

I fell ill on Monday (9 days ago) and she fell ill that friday night. For me it was almost more like a cold- extreme congestion, with head aches, body aches, lack of appetite and desire to even drink water.... I ended up getting a very bad cough and currently have chest congestion. I have yet to get a chest x-ray...... to be honest I am a bit afraid to because the idea that it could be pneumonia is kinda scary.

For my baby girl- it was much much worse....and the virus seems to take control of her very quickly. On Friday night she went to my mom's for the night and in the middle of the night began vomiting and running a high fever. My mom brought her home saturday morning and i rushed her into the E.R. Thats where they told us that she had the Swine Flu- and immediately started her on Tamiflu. Luckily- because that stuff only works if started within 48 hours of the symptoms!

From Early Saturday morning to late last night my baby girl was running a 103-104 fever! Tylenol and motrin (even doubled up!) were not making the fever go down! I was so afraid for her! I never left her side the entire time..... but this morning by some miracle of god- she woke up with a 97 degree body and has held that temp for the entire day!

I took her back to the doctor today though because she sprung a nasty rash that covered her little body.... and doctor said it was a GOOD sign! The rash was a sign of the END!

So..... we are on the mend! YAY!

thank you to everyone who sent me get well emails! That meant a lot!

We survived the worst flu ever! and I mean it- it was bad!

(well- I am not even close to getting better.... since I did not get the Tamiflu right away.... so i am still having to let this thing run its course. And even though i think the actual flu is done- it has caused some secondary infections in my lungs and in my throat and sinuses. but I do feel better... just not 100% yet!)

Sheesh!

What a time!

As I mentioned in a previous blog post... I have moved. Talk about the task of a lifetime! Sure- no one ever said moving was easy- but I can honestly tell you it SUCKS. It has taken me litterally 1 full month to get reorganized.

I fell way behind on my orders. My inventory was in such disaray that I was having difficulties finding things that i needed which was delaying orders. My apartment needed a little TLC to make it FEEL like HOME- time spent doing things like painting- when I SHOULD have been sewing! But it is hard to make your children a meal in a kitchen that just wont look clean no matter how much you scrub it..... and the best solution..... PAINT IT! so thats what I did.

Im finally feeling at peace here in this little tiny apartment with my two kids and out baby kitten.... who by the way is such a spoiled little guy! My daughter has been very mean to "Maks". She picks him up in a choke hold, trys to sit ON him, and forces him to rides around in her baby stroller for hours and hours a day while her brother is off Learning at School. I had contemplted finding him a new home because I thought maybe it was just too soon to get her a kitten.... but after this weekend of spending the entire time alone here - just me and Maks..... I have fallen for the guy! He sleeps on my pillow, sits on my shoulder when I watch TV, falls asleep on my lap while Im trying to pack envelopes.... he is just stuck on me like glue! Probably because Im the only one in this house who doesnt force him to play! haha!

Anyway- the purpose of this blog post is to let you know that I am FINALLY back on track. Knotty baby Wear was struggling there for the past 4 weeks. I was barely keeping my head above water, and orders just could seem to ship fast enough.... but as of Monday October 5th- EVERYTHING was shipped! Talk about a weight lifted off my shoulders!

I apologise to anyone who ordered during the month of september. If you were one of the lucky ones who got your order fast- trust me- you were extra lucky! For those who might still be waiting 9because mail will still take a couple more days from Monday!) I am so so so sorry! Please forgive me..... as I swear it was not intentional. Life has taken me down a path i never planned on traveling... but Im here- and Im doing just fine now!

A Special Offer just for YOU!

One of the newest things I have been offering at Knotty Baby Wear are these super adorable hats. The inspiration behind these hats came from two things. One, all of my lovely photographer friends who I love so dearly. And two, Anne Geddes- one of the top baby photographers in the country.

So far, I have made and shipped out more than 40 of these hats in an array of colors and flower types ranging from roses to poinesttias to daiseys.

Here are some photos I have recieved back so far from some of the ladies who purchased these hats.

Take a Gander....

Since this is a new product I am still in the process of launching.... and I NEED more photos of them in use.... I would like to offer anyone who purchases one of my hats in during the Month of October FOUR FREE pairs of Knotty Legs if they send me back a minimum of two images that I can use in my shop using these hats.
You can find all of my already made hats HERE.

I'm So Sorry!

It has litterally been over 2 months since i updated this blog and I am SO SORRY! Life has been a little unusual for me lately. HUGE changed have taken place over the past month.... ones that I won't get into in its entirety here. But, I moved! My kids and I moved into a small apartment- cozy I guess!

Moving the KBW factory was not the easiest thing in the world- and the apartment is UPSTAIRS! So imagine moving all my inventory up a flight of stairs.... yah. My mother and my friend Michelle were NOT happy campers... but we got it done and life goes on!

1st grade started and went off without a hitch. The new school (yah we switched private schools- a personal choice due to some faculty changes at the other school which we didnt agree with) is amazingly awesome. I know god has plans- BIG PLANS- for my boy....and each day he is in private school I see him becoming so mature and growing into just an awesome person all around!

Over the past few weeks I have been working extra hard to bring some new products into the shop as well as get caught up on past orders so I can stay current again.... moving really set me back as I didn't sew or ship for nearly 6 days! It was a real mess!

I am teaming up with my Dear Friend and Partner in Crime- Tiffany from Baby Cuddles to bring you a whole new perspective on shopping for your baby! In the weeks to come we will be working on a brand new website for you to visit and 'spoil that baby'. Yes thats a hint! We are still in the design and planning stages now- but we have some super exciting things planned for our future!

Some other fun things going on around here.... we got a baby kitten. His name is Max- and he is a Blue Point Ragdoll.... and lives up to his breed 100%. He really is a DOLL! check him out:

He is only 6 weeks old- but isnt he a beauty!?

other than that- I have gotten a TON more photography doneand TONS more on the way. Photography has slowly become one of my passions over the past year. The inspiration comes from all of the wonderful ladies who have taken photos for me- I would love to be like them when i grow up! I have been practicing as much as i can with my nikonD60 and plan to take a class this winter on portrait photography..... we will see how that goes.

One very last note- one of my good friends and photographers who has done lots of great work for me is giving birth to her 3rd child tomarrow. Not only am I excited for her and her husband to be welcoming their little boy Andy into the world.... but all those awesome new newborn leg warmers pictures will be coming very soon! haha! Congrats Danielle! Cant wait for the phone call!
